BEACHSTOCK 2023, presented by Ketel One Botanical and Tanqueray Gin returns to the Margate Beach for its 11th year, attracting 5,000 visitors, Saturday, June 25, 8am-10p. (on the beach between Granville & Huntington Aves) Rain date is June 26th. The most fun you can have in the sand!! Admission is FREE and no beach badges are required at the event.
The activities take place on the beach between Huntington and Granville Avenues with food and beverages set up in the parking lot of the Martin Bloom Pavilion. This years event features mummers from The Jersey String Band, new food vendors, kid's activities, live music, free surf and kite lessons and so much more!
New this year is the Ketel One Botanical and Tanqueray Gin Black Tiki Bar featuring a tasting and service area of both brands ready to drink canned products plus Loyal Nine and Crown Royal. Must be 21 years of age and older. The area will be highlighted by an island vibe complete with palm trees, flamingos, Adirondack chairs, umbrellas, corn hole games, swag giveaways and more!
Also NEW this year is the Sustainable Downbeach tent featuring terrapins, fun environmental educational interactive activities, displays and more. Starting at 11am those wanting to learn more about what lives in our waters and all the beautiful aspects of our beach can meet at the 100.7 WZXL main stage for an environmental walk hosted by “Scuba” Steve Jasecki, a member of the Sustainable Downbeach team.
Lots of FREE activities consisting of sand sculpting lessons with Matthew Deibert, Margate Fire Departments Cool Blast, Kid's Treasure Hunt, limbo contests, surf lessons with Stacey's Surf Camp, Air Circus Kite Shop single/double line stunt kite demonstrations and lessons, massages by The Sourcing Center and WaWa Margate giveaways. The Margate City Police Department will be at their tent providing valuable public information and giveaways. “We look forward to Beachstock, one of the best community events every year, and are excited to add even more kites this year by providing single line & stunt kite demonstrations & lessons on the beach. It's our pleasure to paint the sky!” said Doug Jewell, Owner of Air Circus Kite Shop.
A major feature of this 14-hour event is non-stop entertainment on the 100.7 WZXL main stage. Local signing sensation Teddi Fusco kicks off the event with the National Anthem. The musical line up opens with the ever-popular local feel-good music rock and pop cover band No Clue Trio. Country singing sensation Nikki Briar A TASTE OF COUNTRY – A LICK OF ROCK! will have event goers getting “a little bit country” with her dance lessons and rocking performance.
As the bonfire is lie the excitement continues with an evening Samoan fire knife dance performance by the South Pacific Island Dancers. Taking the stage will be Beachstocl headliner Sidestory; an 8-piece band covering all genres of music. Sidestory will have the audience singin', shouting', rockin' and dancing' in the sand.
At dusk children and their families can spread out their blankets, kick back in their beach chairs and enjoy the movie SpongeBob: Sponge on the run. Back this year is the Cornhole Spring League Championship and Beachstock Family Fun Cornhole Tournament. Official rules will apply, and teams can compete to win cash prizes. Spectators and guests can watch the tournament from the Colmar Home Center Chill Zone featuring comfy furniture and refreshments. Children and adults can participate in this family fun competition. Beach goers can enjoy delicious food. Hamburgers and ice cream from Margate Dairy Bar and Burger, barbecue from Double Eagle Saloon, refreshing healthy fruit shakes from California Yogurt, Breakfast Bowls until noon, Flying Nachos served on a logged flyer (frisbee), Quesadillas-(assorted flavors), Tacos from TacocaT, Salads, Freshly made energy balls, cookies and Iced Teas, Lemonades with fresh fruit from Aneu Kitchen, and root beer served in tin cups by Tin Cup Soda.
Fine artisans will be selling their crafts including Earth Product Essentials handmade skin-care products. The Bow Knife wood bowls, knives and cutting boards and Siesta Seaglass wind chimes, sun catchers and jewelry. Culinary vendors Goodway Bakery will be selling their mouthwatering assorted flavor rum cakes and Preservation Provision will have their home-made jagged pickles, jagged green beans and pickled peppers. Special vendors will be at Beachstock providing products and information including Colmar Home Center, Bathfitters and Renewal by Anderson.
Festival goes can enjoy complimentary jitney shuttle service running 10am-10pm alone Atlantic Ave between Coolidge and Fredericksburg Aves and the Eugene A. Tighe School. Beachstock in organized by the MBA in partnership with Margate City.
